Talbot Practise Match update
13 Mar 2014 by Nick McCulloch
Afternoon all,
I wanted to provide you with some updates with regards to the forthcoming practise match against Talbot.
1. The game against Talbot is being played on the 22nd of March and will be played at our home ground – Smythesdale.
2. There will be 2 teams playing on the day – reserves and senior. Please note we are still working on the finer detail with regards to the times of each match. I would guess that the start times for each game will be very similar to that of the home and away season.
3. Requirements to be eligible to play in the practise matches:
– you must bring your training club football jumper along to play in. We are still a few weeks off receiving the new jumpers.
– you must have paid for your jumper in full. If you still owe money, please see Nick McCulloch prior to the match.
– you must bring along league issued/approved black short and black socks to this game. Players with different coloured shorts or socks will not be allowed to play.
– As this is an official club practise match, you need to be either a current registered player or in the process of transferring from an external club to Smythesdale. If you have not yet done this, please see the coaching staff asap.
4. The club will be holding a function at the end of this game with the following to apply:
– dinner and drinks to be served after the game
– music, raffles, etc will take place
– we will allow players to camp out on the grounds
– we will have a breakfast on the Sunday morning
Team, we expect all players to attend the club function and at least stay for dinner and drinks. As a theme for the home and away season, the club expects each and every player to attend all club functions, attend home and away match day awards, and participate in all other club orientated events.
Players, the Talbot and following weeks practise match against Newlyn will be taken very seriously. It will give us a great opportunity to view our playing list in a match scenario and know how far back or forward we are regarding our competitiveness.
All the best
